Patsy Renz was born and raised on a ranch in the badlands of North Dakota.  She married a farmer and lived in the Prairie Pothole region of North Dakota.  For the last 12 years before retiring and moving to Florida, she worked for a National Wildlife Refuge and started drawing birds as a way to identify them.
 
Patsy has been drawing pictures since she was old enough to hold onto a pencil and has been painting for about 40 years.  She is a self-taught artist, and has done clipart for several publications and web sites and won numerous awards at art shows.  She has sold her artwork in several states.
 
Like most artists, Patsy likes to paint the things she sees around her.  That’s why you see North Dakota paintings in her collection.  Since being in Florida she has started to paint what she sees in nature here.  Now you will see more of a Florida influence on her work and less of North Dakota.
 
Recently she has found she likes working with color pencils and has been doing people’s pets for them. People like to have a special pet done for a gift for the owner of the pet. Dogs have been the most in demand, but cats and other pets have been done also.
